Brad Slyngstad

Owner

With a rich family history in asphalt and concrete dating back to the 1970s, Brad began his paving career in the summer of 1999 in the Bay Area of California, working alongside his dad and uncle. He brings a wealth of experience to the industry, providing exceptional service and innovative solutions for his customers. Brad is also passionate about mentoring his employees, helping them grow and achieve their goals. Outside of work, Brad is an avid sports fan, enjoying fishing, and loves serving alongside his wife and kids at church.

Superintendent

Ivan joined Rain City Paving in 2016, shortly after the company was established in 2015. His journey with the company is a remarkable success story, demonstrating the power of dedication, hard work, and loyalty. Through his commitment, Ivan has risen to become the unquestioned leader of our crew, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and everyone at the company. There is no one more dedicated to the success of a project than Ivan.

Michael Reynolds

Estimator

Michael joined the Rain City Paving team in early 2024 and has quickly become an integral part of our operations. With his extensive background in construction and strong customer service skills, Michael excels as both an estimator and project manager. He is dedicated to providing exceptional service and continually expanding his knowledge within the paving industry. Michael enjoys meeting new clients and values the opportunity to develop lasting partnerships.

Maria Escalera

Maria Escalera Maldonado, MSW, is an experienced Administrative Support Specialist with a strong background in operations, coordination, and systems management. At Rain City Paving, she manages invoicing, payroll, and project billing processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across day-to-day operations. She is known for her attention to detail, organization, and ability to keep workflows running smoothly.

Our Story

Built in Washington, Built to Last

Rain City Paving was founded in 2015 by Brad Slyngstad, whose roots in the paving industry run deep. Brad grew up around asphalt and concrete — his family has been in the trade since the 1970s — and he got his start in the summer of 1999, learning the craft firsthand alongside his dad and uncle in the Bay Area. That foundation of family, hard work, and genuine craftsmanship is what Rain City Paving was built on.

We're based in Woodinville and serve commercial and residential clients across King and Snohomish counties. Every project — whether it's a large commercial parking lot in Bellevue or a residential driveway in Duvall — gets the same treatment: an honest assessment, experienced recommendations, and work we're proud to put our name on. We don't upsell. We don't disappear after the job. We tell you what you actually need and we do it right.

Our goal has always been to build lasting partnerships, not just complete transactions. The relationships we've developed with property managers, HOAs, municipalities, general contractors, and homeowners throughout the region are what we're most proud of. When a client calls us back for their next project — or refers us to a colleague — that's the measure of success that matters most to us. Most of our new business comes from referrals, and we think that says more than any marketing ever could.
